Yankees Minor League Report 8/3/19: Estevan Florial: 2 3B, 4 RBI; Steven Sensley: 2 HR

CF Kevin Alcantara is heating up.  Today (well, actually, it was a completion of a game suspended on 7/26!), he went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and he is now 11-for-34 in his last ten games.   He compiled only three hits in his first 30 GCL at-bats. He just recently turned 17 years old and is the 18th ranked prospect in the system, according to MLB Pipeline…RHP Montana Semmel made his second appearance since signing on the dotted line, tossing a pair of hitless innings with a strikeout…C Antonio Gomez made his GCL debut, going 0-for-3 with a HBP.  Gomez (17) signed for $600K last year.  He only played in one game prior to today, going 3-for-5 for the DSL squad on June 1st…SS Alexander Vargas singled, drove home a run, and stole his 8th base…RHP Edward Paredes tossed five scoreless innings, allowing two hits with a pair of walks and three strikeouts…

Scranton Railriders (63-49) (Lost to Lehigh Valley, 11-8)

LF Clint Frazier:  1-for-5, K
A quick note about Frazier:   The Yankees will soon delay his free agency by a year by leaving him down here.  There is no immediate need in the big leagues, so they would be stupid to not let that happen.
